People with lactose intolerance can enjoy our lactose-free milk without worry. We add lactase to the milk, an enzyme that breaks down lactose (the sugar in milk) into two simpler sugars: glucose and galactose. In people without lactose intolerance, the body naturally performs this process, but in those with lactose intolerance, it does not happen sufficiently or at all. By converting lactose in this way, your intestines have less work to do, making the milk easier to digest.
Our lactose-free milk no longer contains a significant amount of lactose, though traces may still be present.*
